SYNOPSIS

Just like someone who delivers their box of memories and inevitably confesses at the same time, been too long at the FAIR puts us, right from its title, in that state of nostalgia and celebration the job of remembering actually is. The film is driven by a voiceover that makes us feel like we’re sitting at a bar table, smoking and drinking, listening between joyful, sometimes jealous laughs, the sexual-affective adventures of a community that hasn’t let its desire or its pride be sawed off –not even by the dangers of HIV. Faithful to his histrionic eye on the gay world (and the whole world in particular), Charles Lum tells us, in less than 20 minutes, about the two decades New York’s mythical bar Fair has been joyfully submitted to.
